The Botanical Gardens is located in the Dunsmuir City Park in Dunsmuir, California. We are located in far northern California, immediately off Interstate 5, 47 miles north of Redding and 57 miles south of the Oregon border. Turn into the park at the Black Train Engine. Welcome gardens greet you. A pollinator garden adorns the baseball stadium where Babe Ruth Played. Notice the Alexander Dunsmuir Fountain on the left, originally sited near the Dunsmuir train station. Follow the road up through the gate, around the tennis courts and down into the parking lot adjacent to the river. We are open year round, weather permitting from sun up to sun down. Admission is free.
The Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens, at 4841 Dunsmuir Ave, is a place where you can fish in a blue ribbon trout stream…where children can run and play…where walking trails meander through the park, allowing good viewing of the native and introduced plant material.
