Neviusia cliftonii, Shasta Snow-wreath, is a rare native perennial shrub. The only known population was believed to have perished when Shasta Dam was filled. Then in 1992, botanists from the US Forest Service, discovered a surviving population above Shasta Lake. The Forest Service propagated the shrub and donated two specimens to the Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens in 2008.
This member of the rose family has delicate, powder-puff like blooms in spring.
