roosevelt_bloom_042513The Rhododendron variety ‘President Roosevelt’ is an old, but showy specimen.  With red and white blooms and yellow-variegated leaves, it stands out among the other rhododendron varieties in the Gardens.  Named for President Teddy Roosevelt, the Gardens has a number of mature specimens of this variety amoung the beds on the east side of the Meadow.  Blooms in late April to early May.
