Crimson Queen Japanese Maple

DSCN2951

Acer palmatum ‘Crimson Queen’ is a dissectum type of Japanese Maple. Its deeply divided and dissected leaves are the reason these ornamental trees are sometimes called laceleaf maples. ‘Crimson Queen’ is a slow-growing, shrubby mound eventually reaching nine feet high. The leaves hold their greenish, red-tinged color all summer before turning scarlet and dropping off in late fall.
